Here are a few of my Pencil sketches, placed in random order. Many were sketched in airport, train stations and ferry waiting areas in North America and Europe. Many sketches are slightly better than gesturals. Most took 30 seconds-2 minutes...had to work fast-- as soon as people realized I was sketching them they would either leave or stiffen and change their posture knowing someone was watching! One woman kept eyeing me over her magazine....I think she studied me more than I studied her! One woman actually started "posing" for me! I left my notes on the pages. Very often I would sketch in such a hurry, zooming by at 100 KM per hour, (of course I wasn't the driver). This is an excellent way to force myself to sketch faster and more accurately because correcting an errant line is so time consuming.
